Located in the heart of the village, by the beautiful Lake Seljord, you’ll find Bjørge Visitor Farm – a living farm with long-standing traditions. The farm has been run for generations, and today it welcomes families looking to take a break from everyday life and experience close contact with animals, nature, and authentic farm living.

The farm is home to a rich and varied range of animals. Here, you can meet Telemark cattle, horses, sheep, goats, llamas, chickens, ducks, peacocks, rabbits, and cats.

The Telemark cattle are the pride of the farm. This is a rare and protected breed, with only 333 breeding cows remaining in Norway, spread across 98 herds. As many as 10 of them can be found in the barn at Nordigard Bjørge.

The farm also keeps Old Norwegian sheep (often called wild sheep). Although this breed usually lives outdoors year-round with minimal human contact, the sheep here are tame and enjoy interacting with visitors. Together with them, the llama Pia keeps watch over the small flock.

You will also meet the African goats Salto and Bambi, as well as several horses – some of which are used for pony rides, a popular activity for younger visitors.

As you wander around the farm, you may come across peacocks, ducks, and chickens strolling freely, and you’ll also find several rabbits that are happy to receive visitors.
