In Skien, you can actually catch both salmon and trout on the hook, and thet in the down town of Skien. The river that flows through Skien and Porsgrunn is a salmon-carrying river, and is a favorite place for salmon fishing. Many people have caught big fish here.

The inland waters are managed by hunting and fishing associations, and most of them by Grenland Sports Fishermen and Telemark Hunting and Fishing Association. Fishing day passes can be purchased at Grenland Sportsfiskere.
